{"id":3850,"date":"2015-08-24T12:12:50","date_gmt":"2015-08-24T10:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitsrpska.org\/kulturno-istorijsko-nasljedje\/?lang=en"},"modified":"2016-05-05T11:23:42","modified_gmt":"2016-05-05T09:23:42","slug":"kulturno-istorijsko-nasljedje","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visitsrpska.org\/en\/kulturno-istorijsko-nasljedje\/","title":{"rendered":"Cultural and historical heritage  of Kne\u017eevo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Kne\u017eevo municipality, there are traces of monuments from the time of Bogomilism &#8211; tombstones, upright stone slabs decorated with paintings and relief (village Ba\u0161tina, Mramorije in Kobilja and Barice in village Borak), a monument from the Second World War in Ugar River canyon, while a special national treasure make four Serbian Orthodox churches (in places Imljani, Javorani, \u017divinice and Kne\u017eevo).<\/p>\n<p>Among them, especially significant are old churches and chalets in the villages Imljani\u00a0 (Sv. Elijah Church, which keeps a valuable relic known as the &#8220;grandfather&#8217;s stick&#8221;, which locals believe is the stick that belonged to St. John the Baptist)\u00a0 and Javorani (St. Nicholas Church),\u00a0 both built in Ottoman times.<\/p>\n<p>The church in village Javorani is protected as a historical monument. At the confluence of Ilomska River with Ugar, the remains of medieval fortress O\u0161trca can be seen.
