It is not known when it was built but, as tradition says, it was built by Duke Mi\u010deta, and was named after its founder. According to Lucarius, a Dubrovnik chronicler, Mi\u010devac was first mentioned as a fortress in 1042. The old town played the most important role while it was in the hands of Pavlovi\u0107 noble family, Herzog Stjepan and his son Vladislav, but after fierce resistance in 1466 it fell under the Ottoman rule together with Trebinje.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The old town of Mi\u010devac was located in the Trebinje parish, on the right bank of the River Trebi\u0161njica.
