The first archaeological excavation by the museum was done in 1957, on the Church of St.\u00a0 Peter in Zavala. The first Museum&#8217;s publication, titled &#8216;Trebinje I&#8217;, by Vasilije Kora\u0107, was issued in 1966. The Tribunia magazine was started in 1975. It has approximately 1,500 m\u00b2 of usable space, about 800 m\u00b2 of which is the exhibition space.<br \/>\nPermanent exhibitions and legacies:<br \/>\n\u2013<strong><em>Jovan Du\u010di\u0107&#8217;s Collection<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>with valuable artistic exhibits (72 stone sculptures, 14 paintings of local and foreign artists, tapestries, mosaics, a tapestry, Jovan Du\u010di\u0107&#8217;s decorations, ambassadorial clothes and manuscripts);<br \/>\n\u2013\u00a0<strong><em>Permanent ethnological exhibition<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Folk life and culture of Serbs in eastern Herzegovina in the second half of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century;<br \/>\n\u2013\u00a0<strong><em>Permanent archaeological exhibition<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with the valuable exhibits from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages;<br \/>\n\u2013\u00a0<strong><em>Memorial exhibition of Atanasije Popovi\u0107&#8217;s paintings<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 43 paintings of the famous painter, gift to the town of Trebinje from painter&#8217;s brother, Uro\u0161 Popovi\u0107;;<br \/>\n\u2013 L<strong><em>egacy of painter Milena \u0160otra<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 24 paintings with motifs of Herzegovina and travel journal from Russia and 15 graphics by painter&#8217;s brother, famous graphic artist Branko \u0160otra;<br \/>\n-L<strong><em>egacy of painter Milorad \u0106orovi\u0107<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 57 artistic paintings;<br \/>\n\u2013\u00a0<strong><em>Legacy of writer and sculptor Radovan \u017ddrale<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 122 semi-precious stone sculptures.<br \/>\nIn addition to these permanent exhibitions and legacies, there are about 400 paintings, graphics, sculptures and other objects in the Museum of Herzegovina. As part of the Museum of Herzegovina, there is an annex at U\u0161\u0107e (Lastva), a bequest of Dubravka Kuja\u010di\u0107, where temporary exhibitions, promotions, concerts etc. are organized. The Museum has an important collection of library materials (the library with technical books from different fields of science, culture and art).<br \/>\nIn addition to permanent displays and bequests, the Museum of Herzegovina holds temporary exhibitions, poetry recitals, book promotions and music concerts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.muzejhercegovine.org\">www.muzejhercegovine.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Museum was founded in 1952.
