However, life on the territory of today&#8217;s city, in its immediate and wider surroundings, dates back to prehistoric times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0in 0in 11.25pt 0in;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"color: #222222;\">In Roman times, at the site of today&#8217;s town, there was a settlement called &#8220;Municipium Servicium (Serbium)&#8221;, which was an important crossroads to the east and south of the Balkans, and also a dock for the river Roman fleet, which speaks volumes about the strategic importance of the settlement at that time.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to written documents, Gradi\u0161ka was first mentioned a little more than 700 years ago and it was called Gradiski Brod.
