In the central part of Republika Srpska, encompassing the Spreča Plain and the northeastern part of the Ozren Mountain, lies the municipality of Petrovo.
The tourist offer of the municipality of Petrovo is mostly concentrated in the beautiful regions of Ozren, in the center of which is the settlement of Kaluđerica, where the Monastery of St. Nicholas on Ozren from the 13th century is located, as well as built catering and tourist facilities.
The most recognizable tourist gem of this region is certainly Terme Ozren, a modern wellness and spa complex.
Culture
The people of the municipality of Petrovo cherish their culture and tradition through original Ozren songs and dances, and especially through the preservation of the richness of the far-known Ozren folk costume worn by all cultural and artistic groups in this region.
Nature
In addition to Mount Ozren, the natural attractions of the municipality of Petrovo include the Starača pond and the Eagle Lake.
The “Starača” pond is a swamp-pond by its nature, located 12 km northwest of Petrovo, in the village of Karanovac. It consists of three ponds that merge during rains and form a single unit. The pond is rich in various kinds of fish.
The boundaries of the fishing area are clearly marked, as are the places where fishing is prohibited.
In the untouched nature southwest of Petrovo, near the asphalt road to Kaluđerica, there is the Eagle Lake.
The clear and clean water, heated by the cliffs above the lake, flows naturally in and out. It is surrounded by a pine forest where various fruits, mushrooms, and many medicinal herbs grow. It is an ideal place for active rest.
Abandoned mine pits have been converted into catering facilities, which are characterized by a pleasant temperature in the hot summers.

“Weekend on Ozren” – experience an unforgettable adventure on Ozren. Have fun in the adventure park, rent a unique weekend house or organize a celebration. The adventure park consists of 16 challenging obstacles in two levels as well as a zip-line.

Terme Ozren
The Recreational and Tourism Center – “Terme Ozren” Complex is located in Kakmuž, a mountain village in the municipality of Petrovo, 25 kilometers away from the city of Doboj. In this area, as early as 1978, academician Josip Bać discovered deposits of thermomineral hydrocarbonate water, which were later turned into a spa. The ability of this water to have a healing effect on problems such as rheumatism, psoriasis, sinus problems, spinal deformities, high blood pressure, etc. made this place popular and visited by a large number of people, which led to the renovation of the spa in 2007. In that form, the spa functioned only in the summer period with the possibility of swimming in one pool. Modernly furnished accommodation facilities consisting of 55 single, double, triple and quadruple standard rooms, as well as nine modernly furnished apartments. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of the staff, the stay in the thermal baths provides an authentic experience of rest and enjoyment. You can indulge in fun and swimming in 11 indoor and outdoor pools, or an exclusive relaxation treatment in one of the saunas, a steam bath or a salt room. Enjoy the specialties of national and international cuisine in one of the two à la carte restaurants with over 220 seats.
Ozren Mountain
A mountain in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina located between Doboj and Zavidovići. There are two artificial lakes on Ozren suitable for swimming: Goransko Lake and Orlovo Lake. It is characterized by a large number of hiking and cycling trails, numerous thermo-mineral springs, clear mountain streams and rivers, as well as a considerable number of mountain peaks with arranged viewpoints. If you want to experience the surroundings of Ozren panoramically, we recommend that you visit its highest peak, Velika Ostravica (918 meters above sea level), or the peaks of Kraljica (883 meters above sea level), Mala Ostravica (853 meters) and Gostilj (773 meters above sea level), where there is a paragliding runway. Do you want recreational hiking? Then Mount Ozren is the right place for you. A large part of Ozren is covered by a considerable number of well-marked hiking trails that make up combinations of forest, macadam and asphalt roads, as well as beautiful forest and river landscapes through which they pass. If you are not sure where to start, there are two hiking associations operating in the Ozren area that organize walks, hiking, transportation, licensed guides and tours of local sights. Saint Nikolas Monastery
This monastery is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra. It is located in Kaluđerica, a village on Mount Ozren, about 7km away from Petrovo. According to popular belief, the monastery was founded by King Dragutin, who ruled these lands in the late 13th and early 14th centuries. The first written mention of the monastery is found in an inscription above the entrance gate from 1587. The size and importance of the monastery is evidenced by the fact that several handwritten books were written in the monastery or for the monastery during the 16th century.
