Culture
“Stećci, ancient tombstones, are scattered throughout the municipality, bearing witness to the history of life in this region.
Until 1992, the only protected cultural monument in this municipality was the Musa Pasha Mosque in Nova Kasaba. In addition to this mosque, the Republic Institute recorded several other cultural monuments from the Ottoman period:
- The Serbian Orthodox cemetery in Milici (with over 100 stone tombstones),
- The cemetery of the Musa Pasha Mosque in Nova Kasaba, and
- The Mezerluci Muslim cemetery in Nova Kasaba.
Above the village of Gerovi, there are remains of a fortress town called Komic – Jerinin Grad, which, according to legend, was built in the mid-15th century by Jerina (Irina), a Serbian Despina of Greek origin and wife of the despot Đuradj Brankovic.
The guardians of culture in today’s municipality of Milici are the Park of Giants and the Mining Museum.”
Nature
Among the most attractive natural areas of the municipality, Mount Javor stands out with the locality of Tisovalj and its habitat of the Serbian spruce.
Locality of Tisovalj
Located in the basin of the Studeni Jadar river, on Mount Javor, is the northernmost confirmed population of the Serbian spruce. It consists of about 300 old and middle-aged trees. Until 1992, the locality of the Serbian spruce Tisovalj was protected by a decision of the Republican Institute for the Protection of Cultural, Historical, and Natural Heritage of the Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a botanical reserve.

Mining Museum and Rajkov Tower
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the “Boksit” company, a permanent exhibition of the Mining Museum was opened in the Miners’ House.
The exhibits in the permanent exhibition of the museum trace the development of the company in its first 50 years of existence. The exhibition is complemented by an archive of audio and video recordings, as well as various written documents and graphs. The most interesting part of the exhibition are samples of mineral raw materials, as well as tools, and protective equipment used in production processes.
Enjoy a refreshing drink at the café bar on the observation deck of Rajkov Tower (65 m) and take in the view of the endless forest. Rajkov Tower is also part of the museum exhibition.
